Hiking the Pacific Crest Trail will be an arduous but rewarding journey. The financial cost for the hike is substantial, but less than the cost of living in an apartment in Austin for six-months. I have saved and I am still saving up for the cost. It is estimated to cost between $3,000-$6,000 for the entire journey, this includes: food, travel arrangements, and cost of gear. In addition to these cost, I am also pursuing Independent Study through Texas State University to earn six hours of course credit for my Bachelors of Science in Geography Resource and Environmental Studies. What this mean is that I will also have the additional cost of tuition which will cost an estimated $2,500. I am asking for donations to assist with the cost of tuition. Any donation amount is acceptable and greatly appreciated. What is in it for you? For each person that donates you will get a small but personal gift from me. If I raise more money than the cost of tuition I will donate the remanding funds to the Pacific Crest Trail Association. Prior to hiking I will post the final amount donated and the amount donated to the Pacific Crest Trail Association if I raised more than the cost of tuition.
You can donate here through paypal. If you prefer not to use paypal please email me for other arrangements.
$1-15: Five post cards hand picked from my best film photographs.
$16-25: Ten post cards hand picked from my best film photographs.
$26+: Five post cards hand picked from my best film photographs plus one free download of my photo book. (I plan on publishing this to iTunes store for iOS devices. If you have a non-Apple device contact me for other arrangements.)
Photo book info: Upon completing the Pacific Crest Trail I will make a photo book of my hike. It will include steps I took to prepare, a short story on my journey told along side the photos, and a detailed description of each part of the Pacific Crest Trail for historical reference. Depending on cost, and my commitment I may also have a limited run hardcover photo book. In addition to cost and my commitment, my decision to make a hardcover photo book will also be dependent on interest to purchase one. If you are interested please email me ( email@example.com ) to let me know.
Also any reblog would be greatly appreciated!
